Thoughts on the Award-Nominated Book “Homes: A Refugee Story”

In May 2019, Senator Ratna Omidvar was pleased to attend 2019 Politics and the Pen gala in Ottawa. Put on by the Writers’ Trust of Canada, the event raised funds to support the development of Canadian literature. In advance of the event, Senator Omidvar joined Andre Picard, Angela Sterritt, and Chris Turner,  jury members for the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing, to reflect on the importance of the book “Homes: A Refugee Story” by Abu Bakr al Rabeeah and Winnie Yeung.
