Senator Ratna Omidvar was featured on episode 18 of the Open Canada Podcast. They discussed the Effective and Accountable Charities Act, which aimed to improve the nonprofit sector’s “resource accountability”, as well as the Frozen Assets Repurposing Act, which proposed to stem the tide of corruption by ensuring Canada can repurpose stolen or otherwise misappropriated funds. Senator Omidvar hopes these new resources will support the integration and settlement of displaced peoples.
