WATCH: The Charitable Sector Needs Not Only To Survive But Thrive – Moving Forward from the Pandemic

On June 4, 2020 Senator Ratna Omidvar delivered the keynote speech for the Association for Nonprofit and Social Economy Research’s (ANSER) virtual event. The event focused on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the Canadian charitable sector, including service delivery, funding mechanisms and advocacy efforts. While COVID-19 has had a disruptive impact on the sector, the pandemic also offers an opportunity for charities and nonprofits to learn from the crisis and modernize into an even stronger sector. In her speech, Senator Omidvar discussed what priorities the charitable sector should tackle to recover from this unprecedented crisis.
